Dexion carton flow shelving brings cartons, boxes and small components forward on rollers or slide rails, so operators don’t waste time walking or searching for parts. Replenish from the rear, pick from the front, and you get a clean FIFO flow that supports reliable stock rotation.
The light-duty, modular frame suits assembly stations, kitting areas and spare parts picking. Shelf levels adjust in 25 mm steps, helping you set a comfortable handling height and keep everyday items within easy reach. Choose a fixed unit or a mobile version with lockable castors for shared workstations and changing layouts.
Add flow decks to new or existing pallet racking bays, installed single-sided or double-sided. Optional lane dividers help guide and separate products.

Dexion carton flow racking is built to move cartons, bins and small components towards the picker on slightly inclined rollers or slide rails, so the next item is ready at the pick face. The principle is straightforward: load from the rear and pick from the front. That separation keeps replenishment and picking clear, supports FIFO (First In, First Out) product rotation, and helps keep stock in order at the front. In other words, it is flow-through shelving (also known as carton live storage or gravity flow shelving) for manual picking, kitting and assembly points where parts availability matters.
In daily work, carton flow shelving acts like a “parts to the picker” setup. Instead of walking into an aisle, reaching deep, or reorganising boxes by hand, the operator picks from the front lane. When one carton is removed, the next glides forward. That small change can shorten picking routes and keep order picking consistent, especially when the same SKUs are handled repeatedly during a shift.
Because goods are presented at the front, it becomes easier to keep each SKU in its own place. You can see low stock quickly, replenish from the back, and keep the pick face ordered. For assembly lines and shared workstations, this can be the difference between a smooth process and constant stop-and-start.
This light-duty flow rack is intended for cartons and individual items that are handled by hand. Typical use cases include assembly and sub-assembly points where components must be within arm’s reach, kitting areas where the same parts are gathered repeatedly, and spare parts picking where a clear FIFO flow helps keep older stock from being forgotten at the back. The modular structure supports tailored layouts for a warehouse, production area or maintenance store. When the storage system follows the work process (and not the other way around), it becomes easier to standardise how parts are presented, picked and replenished.
Shelf levels can be adjusted in 25 mm increments, so you can set a sensible handling height for the items that are picked most often. With the right level positions, bending and over-reaching are reduced and the operator can work in a more neutral posture. Cartons and components slide forward to the hand, which also helps when picking is repetitive.
Flow-through shelving is a compact way to store box goods because lanes hold products tightly on the roller tracks. Instead of spreading cartons across tables or parking extra stock in walkways, you keep goods in the rack and keep floor space free for movement. Shorter routes and better order at the pick face can also help reduce picking mistakes, particularly when you work with many similar-looking cartons. Because replenishment happens from one side and picking from the other, the workflow is easier to organise. The rack itself guides product rotation, so the oldest items naturally move to the front for picking.
The carton flow unit is available as a stationary rack or as a wheeled version. With lockable castors, you can use the rack where it is needed: at a shared assembly point, beside a packing bench, or in a temporary kitting area. This is useful in environments where workstations change, projects vary, or space must be shared between teams.
When you want FIFO picking but your storage is already built around pallet racking, flow decks give you a practical upgrade path. The decks can be installed into pallet racking bays in single-sided or double-sided configurations, and they can be fitted both to new racks and to existing rack structures.
As an optional accessory, lane dividers are available to guide and separate products on the flow decks. Dividers help when you need several SKUs side by side, when cartons are narrow, or when you want a clear one lane, one product rule.
Flow decks and carton flow shelving are modular, so they can be built into many different spaces. The same flexibility also means that planning matters. If you want a layout that truly supports your picking, assembly or kitting process, ask our experienced sales team for design help:
You will get a solution that fits your site, keeps FIFO rotation clear, and reduces the wasted steps that quietly slow work down.
