Extendable Safety Barrier: modular steel protection for warehouses and production

Forklift traffic, pedestrians, machines and stored goods all share the same floor space in many facilities. When routes are unclear, the smallest mistake can turn into damaged equipment, downtime or, worse, an injury. An extendable safety barrier is a practical way to mark pedestrian zones clearly and protect machines and other assets with a visible, physical boundary.

This modular safety barrier is a steel guardrail system for indoor production and warehouse environments where you need to separate walkways from vehicle lanes, shield machine areas and create clear restricted zones. The powder-coated signal yellow finish (RAL 1023) is easy to spot in peripheral vision, helping drivers and pedestrians recognise protected areas early.

Why use a modular warehouse safety barrier

Safety markings on the floor help, but they do not stop a pallet truck or forklift truck from drifting into a protected area. A floor-mounted steel safety barrier adds structure to the layout and supports day-to-day working discipline. It is a cost-effective form of impact protection: a small investment that helps you avoid expensive repairs and reduces the risk of injuries.

Because the system is modular, you do not need to redesign everything at once. You can start with the most critical point (for example, a machine corner, a pedestrian crossing or the end of an aisle) and extend the modular safety barrier later as routes evolve.

High visibility

The barrier is powder coated in bright yellow RAL 1023. In warehouses and production halls, high-visibility colours are used for a reason: they stand out against concrete floors, racking, machines and stored goods. The strong colour contrast helps communicate that the area behind the safety guardrail is protected and not part of normal traffic flow.

Floor-mounted steel safety barrier installation

The barrier is installed by bolting the posts directly to the floor. All required bolts and fixings are included. The base plates are designed for common concrete floors, making drilling and anchoring straightforward with standard tools. Once the posts are fixed, rails are attached to complete each section.

Extendable safety barrier components and structure

The extendable safety barrier is built from standard components that can be combined to match your site. The core of the system is simple: posts and rails. The posts are 1000 mm high and are available as end posts, intermediate posts and 90° corner posts. Rails are available in three lengths: 1000 mm, 1500 mm and 2000 mm.

Between every pair of posts, two horizontal rails are installed. This creates a clear and continuous guardrail system that is easy to see and difficult to miss. By adding intermediate posts, you can build an almost unlimited straight run. With corner posts, the modular safety barrier can follow a 90° turn to suit aisles, machine perimeters and building lines.
