If you already have pallet racking in place and simply need more pallet positions, this pallet racking extension bay is a practical way to expand capacity without starting over. This add-on section is designed to extend an existing racking run and provide storage locations for up to 10 Euro pallets (EUR pallets). It integrates with your current system and keeps pallet handling straightforward with a forklift, so goods stay organised and accessible from the first day.

What an extension bay is

An extension bay is built to connect to a racking bay that is already standing. Instead of buying two new upright frames, you add one new upright frame and a set of beams, and the new bay shares the adjacent frame from your existing pallet rack. This is why extension bays are a cost-effective way to add storage: you increase pallet capacity while keeping the layout uniform and the investment focused on the parts you actually need.

This package includes 1 upright frame and 8 pallet rack beams (4 beam pairs). In typical Euro pallet storage, that creates four beam levels. Together with floor storage, the configuration is intended to provide the 10 pallet positions stated for this extension bay.

Durable construction that suits warehouse and industrial environments

The upright frame is galvanised for corrosion resistance and long service life. This finish is a strong choice for warehouses, loading areas and other environments where racking is exposed to wear and everyday handling.

The beams are finished in orange powder coating. Besides being hard-wearing, the high-visibility colour makes rack edges easier to see when aisles are busy. Clear visibility supports safer driving and faster pallet placement, especially when multiple operators share the same storage area.

What’s included and how the parts work together

• Upright frame: The upright frame (sometimes called the end frame) includes the uprights, bracing components, base plates and the necessary fixings for frame assembly. The upright frame is delivered in parts.
• Beams: The beams form the pallet support levels. The beams are supplied with safety locks that secure the beam connection and help keep the installation stable during use.

If you want to shorten commissioning time, you can request the upright frame supplied pre-assembled for an additional charge. That way the extension bay can be put into service faster once it arrives on site.

Compatibility and installation notes

This pallet racking extension bay is designed for Dexion P90 system compatibility. Because it is an extension bay, it is intended to be connected to a racking bay that is already installed. In practice, you will need an existing starter bay (or an existing run) to attach this add-on bay.

Installation is typically straightforward when the base system is in place: position and assemble the upright frame, connect the beams at the required heights, and ensure the structure is aligned and stable.

Why expand with an extension bay instead of a new racking block?

Replacing or relocating pallet racking can create downtime and cost, even when the hardware price looks reasonable on paper. An extension bay keeps the project smaller: you extend the racking where you already have aisle space, and you keep the flow that operators are used to.
