This pallet racking extension bay adds space for up to 8 Euro pallets (EUR pallets) by extending a compatible Dexion P90 pallet racking row. It’s a simple way to increase capacity while keeping aisles clear and pallet access straightforward for everyday forklift handling.
The add-on bay is supplied with one end frame (uprights, bracing, base plates and fixings) plus 6 beams delivered with safety locks for a secure installation. Each pallet position is rated for 1500 kg, and the bay load is up to 3000 kg.
Upright frames are delivered in parts and assembled on site; pre-assembled frames are also available at an additional cost. With EN 15512 compliance and 50 mm height adjustment, this extension bay is built for organised, scalable pallet storage.

This pallet racking extension bay is built for storing up to 8 Euro pallets (EUR pallets) and is intended to connect to a compatible Dexion P90 pallet racking row. You add the space you need while keeping your aisles, picking routes and forklift traffic exactly where they belong. If you already have a straight racking run and space to grow, adding one more bay is often the cleanest upgrade. For expanding ranges, seasonal peaks or buffer stock, an add-on bay lets you increase capacity in a controlled way instead of reworking the whole warehouse.
The extension bay is supplied as a complete set of the main structural parts you need for an additional bay. The end frame includes the uprights, bracing, base plates and the necessary fixings. The beam set is delivered with safety locks, helping to keep the beams securely in place after installation.
The delivery includes 6 beams. In a typical pallet racking layout, that gives you three beam levels, while the floor can be used as the lowest pallet level. With two Euro pallets per level, you reach a total of up to eight pallet positions in the bay.
For practical transport and handling, the upright frames are delivered in parts and assembled on site. If your project schedule is tight or you want to reduce assembly work, you can also order the upright frames pre-assembled at an additional cost.
Warehouse storage is rarely static. One week you may be handling full pallets of incoming goods, the next you might be staging mixed pallet loads for outbound. The Dexion P90-compatible pallet racking design supports this reality with a 50 mm height adjustment, so you can fine-tune beam levels to suit different pallet heights and product packs without having to change the whole structure.
The main purpose of adding an extension bay is simple: more pallet locations. But once the racking row grows, clear organisation becomes even more important. By building out the row in consistent bay widths and depths, you keep aisle sight lines clear and maintain a logical location structure for stock control.
A pallet racking system can also be equipped with marking and identification accessories that support fast picking and reduce mistakes. Label holders, upright pockets, label covers, location signs and shelf stickers are practical tools for making every pallet position easy to identify. When location data is clearly visible, put-away is faster and inventory checks take less time.
Even if the primary task is Euro pallet storage, many warehouses also need places for cartons, boxes, cages or returnable containers. A pallet racking system can be adapted with add-on components such as intermediate beams, shelf panels or wire mesh decks, allowing different types of goods to be stored in the same structure. This can be particularly useful in spare-parts storage, maintenance areas and dispatch zones where load sizes vary.
The key is to keep the handling method safe and consistent: goods should be stable on the level, and forklift operation should remain clear and controlled. If you plan to mix load types, it is sensible to define the rules for each zone so that everyone knows what belongs where.
Pallet racking is often installed in areas with constant forklift movement, and safety features can make a major difference over the lifetime of the system. Protective accessories such as upright protectors, tunnel guards and safety mesh help reduce the risk of accidental impacts and falling goods. They are particularly valuable at row ends, in narrow aisles and near pedestrian routes.
Good safety is also good productivity. When the racking is protected, repairs and downtime are less likely, and operators can work with confidence even during busy periods. If your warehouse has dedicated pedestrian lanes, mixing zones or high turnover areas, it is worth considering which protection elements should be included from the start.
The racking structure follows EN 15512 requirements, supporting safe and reliable use in professional warehouse conditions. Combined with robust materials and secure beam locking, the system is intended to handle the everyday realities of industrial storage: repetitive handling, varying pallet weights and the need to keep stock accessible without compromising stability.
To keep performance consistent over time, it is good practice to follow site-specific installation guidelines and to carry out routine checks. Simple habits, such as keeping loads centred and avoiding impacts, help the racking stay straight and dependable year after year.
