PET strapping can often replace steel strapping in many medium to heavy-duty applications. Thanks to its weather and UV resistance, it is suitable for damp areas and outdoor use, is safer to handle, and can be collected for recycling. The 406 mm core suits many standard strap dispensers. The strap can be tensioned with manual, pneumatic or battery strapping tools and sealed with metal buckles/seals, or welded in plastic strapping machines.

When a pallet leaves the warehouse, it is exposed to more than just a straight drive from A to B. Forklift handling, vibration, braking, temperature changes and long storage periods all work against load stability. Another key advantage is shock resistance. PET strapping tolerates the sudden impacts that happen during loading, transport and storage. Instead of transferring the full shock into the strap and seal, the material can flex and recover. This is one reason why PET strapping is widely used for pallet securing where loads may settle slightly over time.
In addition, PET maintains tension well during longer storage and through temperature variation. When you need the strapping to stay tight for days or weeks, a strap that keeps its tension helps reduce load shift and the risk of product damage.

In daily use, PET strapping is easier and safer to handle than steel because it has no sharp, metal edges. As with any strapping material, safe handling matters: wear suitable gloves, keep hands clear of the tensioning path, and cut straps in a controlled way to avoid snap-back. Store PET strapping rolls in a clean, dry area, protected from unnecessary contamination and damage.
PET is a recyclable material. In many workplaces, used strapping is collected separately to support recycling and keep the work area tidy. Keeping the strapping waste organised also improves safety by reducing trip hazards in packing and dispatch areas.
