The end of a rack run is where the bumps happen. Forklifts turn into a cross-aisle, reverse with a load, or swing a pallet around a tight corner. On double-sided pallet racking, the end frame is exposed from both directions, so a “small touch” can quickly become a bent upright, damaged stock, or an urgent inspection. This full-width rack end protector is made for the ends of double-sided (double-entry) pallet racks. It places a strong steel impact barrier in front of the rack end, helping you prevent direct hits to the end frame and keeping traffic lanes easier to read.
Double-sided pallet racking is efficient because you can work the same rack run from two aisles. The trade-off is that the rack end becomes a busy turning point. Drivers approach from both sides, often with limited space and limited visibility around the load. Low-level impacts typically come from fork tips, pallet corners, pallet truck arms and the front of handling equipment, exactly where the rack end frame is most exposed. A dedicated rack end protector (pallet racking end protector) is a simple way to control that risk. By shielding the rack end with a floor-fixed barrier, you reduce the chance that everyday manoeuvres end in damaged uprights and avoidable interruptions.
This model is designed to protect both sides of a double-sided rack end with one continuous guard. That means faster fitting compared with installing two separate protectors, and a cleaner finish at the end of the aisle. The barrier spans 2460 mm in width and stands 400 mm high, focusing protection where impacts are most common: at floor level.
The protector is made from durable, impact-resistant steel and finished in high-visibility yellow (RAL 1004). In everyday use, that colour helps operators spot the rack end sooner, useful in wide aisles, mixed lighting and high-traffic intersections.
The guard is bolted directly to the floor using wedge anchors. A floor-mounted rack end barrier is a solid option because the concrete slab can take and spread impact forces. The included wedge anchors help create a stable installation that stays in place in daily use.
Most rack damage starts low. A fork tip clips the base of the end frame, a pallet corner swings wider than expected, or a pallet truck wheel catches the upright line. Those hits may look minor in the moment, but repeated contact can gradually push parts out of line. By placing a 400 mm high barrier in front of the rack end, the rack end protector takes the first contact and helps keep impacts away from the uprights.
Not necessarily on every position, but rack ends and end frames next to traffic routes should be protected. Start with end-of-aisle areas, cross-aisles and other turning points where impacts are most likely.
This version is intended for double-sided pallet racking ends. There are separate protector models for single-sided racks and for individual uprights or corners.
