The end of a racking run is where things get hectic. A forklift turns into the aisle, a pallet truck squeezes past, a pallet swings a little wider than planned and the first thing in the firing line is the rack end frame. One small knock can be enough to bend an upright, shift a beam line or start a repair job you didn’t have time for. This rack end protector is built for exactly that risk area. Warehouse traffic rarely causes one huge crash. It’s the regular, low-level impacts that add up: a counterweight brushing the end, a pallet corner catching a post, a pallet truck frame tapping the base as someone rushes to keep up with the pick list. Without protection, those hits go straight into the rack end frame, and the end frame is a structural part of the racking.

With a proper rack end protector in place, the barrier takes the first contact. That helps to protect the end uprights, the alignment of the bay, the stored pallets close to the end, and the people working in the area. It also reduces the risk of knock-on problems, such as snagging pallets on a slightly bent upright or having to stop work to deal with a sudden racking concern.

The protector is specified at 400 mm in height and 1210 mm in width. That height sits right where many impacts happen: at the level of pallet edges, pallet truck frames and the lower parts of a forklift. The idea is to stop the impact before forks, pallets or wheels reach the racking uprights. The 1210 mm width is designed to cover the rack end area with one continuous piece. That matters because rack end protection works best when it presents a clear, uninterrupted contact surface. Fewer joints in the impact zone also means fewer places for contact points to find a weak spot.

The bright yellow finish (RAL 1004) is there for a reason. In a warehouse, visibility changes constantly: shadows between aisles, glare from doorways, and busy operators focusing on loads rather than obstacles. A safety-yellow rack end guard stands out early, not at the last second. That visibility supports safer driving habits without anyone having to think about it. When the end of the rack is clearly marked, drivers naturally keep a little more margin and adjust their approach speed when turning into an aisle.

As with any floor-fixed pallet rack protection, installation quality matters. Fit the protector on a solid, suitable floor surface and follow your site practices for drilling, anchoring and torque. Once installed, the guard should sit firm and stable, ready to take contact without shifting.
