This Treston storage bin cabinet is especially suitable for small parts handling where reliability and daily usability matter. The cabinet includes a strong steel frame and 16 Treston 4010 shelf bins. What the Treston 1640 storage bin cabinet includes

The product includes the frame, 16 shelf bins and labels with protective shields. The frame is made from sturdy grey powder-coated steel, colour RAL 7045. The compact size makes the cabinet easy to place close to the work area, where small components are needed most often.

The included bins are type 4010. One 4010 shelf bin measures 400 mm in depth, 92 mm in width and 82 mm in height. The cabinet has 16 of these bins, so it gives a clear separate place for multiple part types without taking up unnecessary floor or bench space. Bin colour options are blue, red and grey. Clear and ESD versions are also available on request.

The Treston 1640 is the 400 mm deep version in the storage bin cabinet range. Treston storage bin cabinets are available in two frame depths: 300 mm and 400 mm. The deeper 400 mm model is a good choice when longer bins and greater bin depth are needed for small parts, fittings or consumables.

Flexible placement: wall, floor stack or stand

The steel frame can be fixed to a wall, stacked on the floor or placed in a suitable stand. Wall mounting is useful when floor space is limited and small parts should be kept at eye level or close to a workstation. Floor stacking is a simple option when several cabinets are used together and the storage layout may need to change later.

For larger systems, the cabinet can also be used with a rotating stand. A rotating stand for storage bin cabinets is a strong space-saving solution when many different parts must be stored in a small area. The free-standing stand can provide a separate location for up to 1,792 different items, depending on the cabinet and divider setup. The stand has a load capacity of 800 kg.

The rotating stand options are designed for the two storage bin cabinet depths. The 16-300 stand takes 16 cabinets from the 300 series and measures 700 x 700 x 1680 mm. The 16-400 stand takes 16 cabinets from the 400 series and measures 800 x 800 x 1680 mm. As the Treston 1640 is a 400 mm deep cabinet, the matching rotating stand is the 16-400 model.

Treston 4010 shelf bins with a corrugated base

The Treston 4010 shelf bins are designed for practical picking. The corrugated base helps prevent small items from sliding flat against the bottom of the bin, making it easier to pick up even small screws, washers or components. The straight bin walls help make efficient use of the available space. Because the bins do not waste width through unnecessary shaping, they are suitable for compact, high-density small parts storage. Each bin includes a label and protective shield. The protected label is easy to replace when the bin contents change, and the shield helps keep the label clean and readable.

Material and resistance of the shelf bins

The coloured shelf bins are made from polypropylene, also known as PP. The temperature resistance of the coloured bins is -20 to +75°C. The material withstands oils, most acids, alkalis and solvents, which makes the bins suitable for many industrial and technical environments. Polypropylene is a practical material for small parts storage because it is light, strong and suitable for repeated handling. In this cabinet, the plastic bins are combined with a sturdy steel frame, giving the system a stable structure while keeping the individual bins easy to pull out and use.

Optional D-10 cross dividers for internal bin separation

The 4010 shelf bins can be fitted with optional D-10 cross dividers. These dividers are ordered separately. They are used when one bin needs to be split into smaller compartments, for example when different screw lengths, washer sizes or similar part groups should stay separated inside the same bin.

The cross dividers for the shelf bins are made from polystyrene. D-10 dividers are suitable for 3010, 4010 and 5010 bins with a width of 92 mm. For wider bins, D-20 dividers are used with 3020, 4020, 5020 and 6020 bins with a width of 186 mm. For this Treston 1640 cabinet with 4010 bins, the relevant divider type is D-10.

Using dividers can make the storage system more precise without adding more cabinets. This is useful when the same storage point must hold a large number of small items, but the quantities of each individual item are not large. Dividers also help keep closely related components together while still maintaining separation.
