The Dexion Tornado vertical lift module is a compact vertical storage machine that applies the goods-to-person principle to speed up order picking and free floor space. Items are stored in trays inside a tall, enclosed tower; a fast lift delivers trays to an ergonomic access opening for picking and replenishment.
Compared with manual shelving, the VLM increases picking throughput and improves inventory accuracy. In many use cases, the Tornado can handle up to 1,500 boxes per hour, cutting walking, search time and mispicks. Because storage is vertical, you gain high-density storage on a minimal footprint and reduce travel in the aisle.

A vertical lift module is an automated storage and retrieval system that brings goods directly to the operator. Inside the enclosed unit, two columns of trays face a central lift that automatically locates and presents the right tray to the access opening. This goods-to-person method shortens walking, speeds up order picking and makes inventory control more consistent.
