This wheel kit is a straightforward way to add reliable, manual mobility to an HD tipping skip (also known as a tipping container or self‑dumping hopper). By fitting Ø 150 mm nylon castors directly to the base frame, you can roll a fully loaded container to its point of use, park it accurately and still tip safely when needed. The set combines durability with simple installation so that busy maintenance and production teams can keep material moving even when the forklift is tied up elsewhere.

Built for demanding shifts

Nylon is the right choice when floors are dusty, oily or strewn with chips. The hard, non‑marking tread resists oil, cutting fluids and most shop chemicals, so the wheels keep turning rather than picking up debris. Sealed ball bearings keep the swivel action light and the rolling resistance low, even across concrete expansion joints and occasional weld beads.

Balanced handling

The configuration is deliberately simple: two fixed castors to stabilise straight‑line travel and two swivel castors for steering. On long runs the skip tracks naturally, so there’s no constant correction. When space tightens near a machine or collection point, the swivels allow you to swing the tail and line up the mouth precisely.

Capacity

The complete set is rated at 2000 kg. That headroom covers typical loads in scrap, offcut and general waste applications and ensures the wheels remain within their working range under dynamic loads. As with any castor installation, the actual safe load depends on floor quality, gradient and how the skip is handled. Keep speeds low, avoid potholes and observe good housekeeping around expansion joints to protect both the wheels and the frame.
