A forklift does not need to hit a rack at speed to cause trouble. A fork tip brushing the upright on entry, a pallet corner catching the frame on exit, or a tight turn at the end of an aisle can slowly bend the most critical part of the structure: the upright.
The P90 column guard is a foam-lined steel rack protector made to shield the front uprights and corner posts of Dexion P90 pallet racking from those everyday knocks. The soft core works as an impact damper, helping to absorb energy before it reaches the racking frame. The high-visibility RAL 1004 safety yellow finish stays easy to spot between racking rows and helps operators judge clearance earlier.
Use this rack protector for rack upright protection at row ends, picking aisles and other tight manoeuvring areas where forklifts, pallet truck traffic and warehouse automation operate.

In a busy warehouse, racking rarely gets damaged in one dramatic crash. More often it is the small, repeated contact that starts the problem: a fork tip taps the post during pallet entry, a load catches the upright when reversing out, or a pallet truck clips the end frame in a narrow cross-aisle. The lower part of the upright takes the brunt of that traffic, and once an upright is bent, beam levels, pallet placement and safety margins can all be affected.
The P90 column guard is a practical rack protector that adds a tough buffer exactly where impact risk is highest. It is intended for Dexion P90 pallet racking and is available as a front upright protector and as a corner model. In both versions, a strong steel outer shell is combined with a soft foam lining. The foam acts as a damper, dispersing impact energy before it transfers into the racking structure.
This upright protector works on a simple principle. The steel shell takes the first contact and shields the upright surface from abrasion. Behind it, the foam lining compresses under load and helps spread the force over a larger area. That reduces the peak shock that would otherwise be concentrated at one point on the upright.
Because the core is soft, the protector also helps reduce harsh metal-to-metal contact. That can be useful when fork tines or pallet trucks brush the upright during normal work. The aim is not to encourage careless driving, but to add a forgiving layer at the point where accidents usually begin.
Racking protection only helps if it is seen. The P90 upright protector is painted in high-visibility yellow (RAL 1004), so it is easy to spot between pallet positions and along aisle lines. In practice, that bright colour acts as a clear visual cue for forklift operators and pedestrians. It makes the protected zone easier to judge when approaching the rack with a load.
