When pallet racking backs onto a walkway, one unstable carton is enough to turn into a safety incident. The Axelent SafeStore pallet racking back mesh (anti-collapse mesh / rack back mesh / rear safety mesh) creates a rigid barrier at the rear or at the end of the rack, stopping pallets, boxes and loose components from falling into traffic areas.
The modular mesh panels use a 50 x 60 mm mesh opening and a strong steel frame made from 15 x 15 mm and 19 x 19 mm tubes. Supplied with a galvanised 150 mm standoff bracket as standard, the system fits the most common pallet racking uprights, including Dexion, Mecalux and SSI SCHÄFER. Panels are bolted together with screw connections, no welding and no floor anchors.

In a working warehouse, pallets are moved fast and stored high. A small impact, an uneven pallet, or a carton sitting too close to the rear beam can be enough to send goods sliding out of the back of the racking. If there is a pedestrian route, packing area, or forklift traffic behind the rack, that one small slip can quickly become a safety incident and an expensive clean-up.
Axelent SafeStore back mesh panels are a practical way to remove that risk. This is the same type of solution you may also see described as anti-collapse mesh, rack back mesh or rear safety mesh. The purpose is simple: create a rigid mesh barrier that stops pallets, cartons and loose components from falling behind the rack or out of the rack end.
A pallet racking back mesh should be fitted to single-sided pallet racking whenever there is people or vehicle movement behind the rack. This is the typical layout where the racking is loaded and picked from one side only, while the back faces a walkway, work area or another aisle. The mesh acts as fall protection, catching goods before they drop into the space behind.
It is also worth fitting a mesh panel system on the end of a double-sided rack run if there is traffic along the side of the racking. End-of-run mesh helps prevent items from being pushed out of the last bay or falling from the rack end in tight turning areas.
Axelent SafeStore panels are designed for warehouse use, with a rigid steel frame and a mesh pattern that stops common stored goods while keeping good visibility through the racking.
Construction: the frame is made from horizontal 15 x 15 mm steel tubes and vertical 19 x 19 mm steel tubes. The horizontal wires are 2.5 mm thick and the vertical wires are 3 mm thick. The standard mesh opening is 50 x 60 mm. Standard colour is light grey RAL 9018.
If you need a tighter opening for smaller items, SafeStore is also available with a 50 x 30 mm mesh opening in black RAL 9011.
SafeStore is supplied with a 150 mm galvanised steel standoff bracket as standard. Brackets are available in different lengths and in painted or galvanised finishes. They are designed to suit the most common pallet racking brands, including Dexion, Mecalux and SSI SCHÄFER.
Select the panel size based on the protection width and height you need, then build the full area by combining elements side by side and vertically.

SafeStore is designed for fast installation. Fix the brackets to the racking uprights, lift the mesh panel into place, and connect the elements vertically with screws. The top of the first row and the bottom of the lowest row are fitted with linking hooks, helping the system stay rigid without additional reinforcement. There is no need for welding or floor anchors.
To fine-tune the installation, SafeStore can be complemented with practical accessories:
A warehouse can be small and manual or large and highly automated, but the safety logic stays the same: keep falling goods away from people and traffic routes. A pallet racking back mesh is an uncomplicated way to reduce risks while also improving day-to-day order. Goods stay where they belong, and aisles stay clearer.
