A FIFO flow rack is a practical way to bring components and goods right where they are needed in production, assembly and packing. In many workplaces this is also referred to as flow-through shelving or gravity flow shelving, because bins and cartons move forward on roller levels. The required parts stay visible and within easy reach, so operators can focus on value-adding work instead of searching, collecting and carrying. Flow-through shelving built around the FIFO principle

FIFO means First In, First Out. In practice, you load the rack from one side and pick from the other. The oldest stock is used first, which helps you keep rotation under control and reduces the risk of old components being left behind. For workstations with frequent part changes, FIFO also makes it easier to keep inventory at a sensible level: you see what is available at the pick face, and you can replenish without disturbing the picking side.

Tool-free adjustment for bins, totes and component boxes

In many environments, the mix of parts changes weekly or even daily. That is why the FIFO flow rack is easy to modify for different container sizes. The roller levels can be adjusted without tools, so you can adapt the rack to different bins, totes and component boxes as your process changes.

Many storage needs grow over time. The FIFO flow rack is designed so that you can increase storage space by expanding the basic module with side or rear extension modules. This is a straightforward way to add lanes for new components or to increase buffer capacity near the line.
