Steel drum spill pallet for horizontal drum storage

Oil, solvent and chemical drums are handled every day in workshops, maintenance areas and production sites. The challenge is always the same: the drums must stay stable, the work area must stay clean, and the storage solution must survive constant forklift traffic and tough use. This steel drum spill pallet gives you a simple, dependable base for storing 200‑litre drums horizontally when you want easy access for dispensing, sampling or transfers.

The drum pallet is built from heavy sheet steel and delivered fully welded and ready to use. Practical supports cradle the drums and keep them securely in position, so the drums do not roll or shift when you connect pumps, open bungs or take samples. Because the drums are lifted to a sensible working height, everyday tasks can be done with less bending and better control.

Stable supports keep drums in place

Horizontal drums need proper support. A flat pallet is rarely enough, especially when the drum is partly empty and the centre of gravity changes. The welded supports on this drum platform keep each drum seated correctly and help maintain a stable working position. That stability matters when you are working with oils, solvents and other chemicals where small leaks quickly become safety and housekeeping problems.

Choose the right size

The range includes three standard sizes for different throughput and space requirements. For compact dispensing points, the single‑drum model keeps one horizontal drum in a controlled area. For regular use in maintenance or production, the two‑drum model allows two drums side by side. When you need higher capacity without increasing the footprint, the four‑drum tower stores four drums in two levels (2+2) by stacking two drum platforms.

Built for demanding warehouse and workshop conditions

The body is manufactured from 3 mm sheet steel and finished with a durable powder‑coat in grey (RAL 7038). The robust steel construction is designed for environments where equipment gets bumped, dragged and repositioned. A rigid frame also keeps the platform stable when it is moved and set down with a forklift.

The top surface uses a galvanised grating deck. The grating gives a solid standing and working surface while allowing drips to pass through instead of collecting where people walk and work. When you are dispensing from a horizontal drum, small drips around pumps and connectors are common. A grating deck helps keep the work area drier and easier to wipe down.

For controlled spill containment, drips can be directed into a matching collection tray (sold separately). This approach keeps the working surface cleaner and helps you manage minor leaks without spreading contamination to the surrounding floor area. Many buyers also refer to this solution as a drum sump pallet, because it supports secondary containment under the drums.

Easy to move with a forklift truck or pallet truck

Layout changes happen. Workpoints move, new lines are added and cleaning routines require access to the floor. This spill pallet is designed with standard fork pockets, allowing it to be handled with a forklift truck. It can also be moved with a pallet truck, making repositioning straightforward even in tighter areas.

The fork pockets include a tapered entry that guides the forks into position. That small detail helps reduce impacts on the frame and makes daily handling faster, especially when the pallet is positioned close to walls or other equipment. When the platforms are not in use, empty units can be stacked for storage to free up valuable floor space.
