Most damage to a shelving system does not start with a dramatic crash. It starts with a routine day: a pallet truck clips a corner, a forklift operator cuts a turn a little tight, or a loaded trolley brushes past a frame at the end of the run. Over time, these small impacts can bend an upright, loosen connections and reduce the stability of the bay.

A shelving end frame protector, sometimes called a rack end protector or end-of-aisle protector, is built to take those knocks first. Installed at the exposed end frames of small parts shelving and industrial shelving runs, it helps keep your frames straight, protects stored goods from falling and reduces the risk of downtime caused by repairs.

What the frame protector does

This low-profile impact guard is designed to shield the base area of the shelving end frame, where most accidental contacts occur. The bent steel profile forms a strong barrier in front of the frame, so the first point of contact is the guard, not the upright. Because the protector is fixed to the floor with wedge anchors, impact energy is directed into the concrete slab rather than into the shelving structure.

Built for warehouse traffic

The protector is manufactured from 4 mm steel plate formed into a rigid profile. This construction is a practical choice for industrial environments where impacts are often low to medium height and happen at the base of the rack: pallet truck drawbars, forks that drift sideways, and the wheels or counterweights of handling equipment.

A powder-coated finish in RAL 1004 safety yellow makes the guard easy to see. High visibility is not only about looks; it helps operators judge distances, keep clear of corners and maintain a predictable driving line in narrow aisles.

Single-sided or double-sided models

• Single-sided frame protector for a shelving run placed against a wall or where only one corner is exposed.
• Double-sided frame protector for a central aisle or back-to-back layouts where both corners can be hit from either side.

Five length options to suit common bay depths

To keep the aisle as open as possible, the protector is offered in five lengths: 300, 400, 500, 600 and 800 mm. Selecting a length that matches your shelving depth helps the guard stay neatly within the footprint of the bay. When the end frame remains protected without sticking out, turning space stays predictable and pedestrian routes remain clear.

End frames are vulnerable because traffic naturally converges where aisles meet. Typical locations for a shelving end frame protector include:

• the ends of shelving rows where forklifts and pallet trucks turn in and out
• tight corners on picking routes where side contact is likely
• areas near doorways where vehicles accelerate and line changes happen quickly
