Steel spill pallets with safety rails for controlled drum storage

One dripping drum can quickly turn into a slip hazard, a messy clean-up and lost time. A steel spill pallet, also known as a drum bund or bunded pallet, keeps leaks and drips contained directly under the drum, so the floor stays cleaner and the situation is easy to spot during routine rounds. This steel spill pallet version is built around a welded steel sump, topped with a galvanised grating and finished with integrated safety rails.

Galvanised grating for durability and corrosion resistance

The galvanised grating is designed for tough day-to-day use. Galvanising improves corrosion resistance, which is valuable in areas where humidity, occasional washdowns and splashes are part of normal work. The grating also creates a stable surface for drums, while the sump below collects the liquid if a leak occurs.

Because the grating is open, small drips do not spread across a solid surface. Instead, they fall into the sump where they are contained. This makes it easier to keep walkways cleaner and reduces the risk of liquid being carried further on boots or wheels.

Safety rails

Busy sites often have more risk from bumps than from dramatic spills. The safety rails add a clear boundary around the drum position and provide extra protection against accidental impacts. They help reduce the chance of a drum being knocked out of place and they make the handling zone easier to recognise for operators working with pallet trucks, forklifts and other equipment.

Forklift pockets for quick relocation

Forklift pockets (fork channels) in the base allow the spill pallet to be lifted and moved with a forklift or pallet truck. This is useful when the layout changes, when drums need to be staged closer to a process line, or when you want to free up space temporarily for a large delivery.

Instead of relying on fixed drip trays, you can move the containment point to where it is needed and keep work areas organised even in changing environments. For many sites, this is a simple way to support 5S and lean housekeeping without building permanent structures.

Three sizes

Select the size based on how many drums you want to store together and how much sump (collection) volume you require. All sizes follow the same concept: steel construction, galvanised grating, safety rails and forklift pockets.

• 1 drum: 220 L sump capacity. Dimensions: 950 × 950 × 910 mm.
• 2 drums: 260 L sump capacity. Dimensions: 1200 × 950 × 910 mm.
• 4 drums: 440 L sump capacity. Dimensions: 1250 × 1250 × 910 mm.

Each steel spill pallet is equipped with galvanised grating and safety rails, and each can be handled using the built-in forklift pockets. Because the overall height is 910 mm, the rails remain at a practical working level while still keeping the drum area clearly defined.
