Finding level footing is often the first problem in stairwell maintenance. An ordinary stepladder may be the right height but still be unsuitable because its four feet cannot stand on the same level. The Varioflex B adjustable step ladder addresses that problem with extendible stiles for staircases, landings, sloping floors and other difficult surfaces. Each stile can be set with millimetre precision and secured by its own turn-lock.

Independent adjustment for stairs and changing floor levels

The main difference between Varioflex B and a conventional double-sided stepladder is the adjustable stile system. Each stile moves continuously instead of clicking through a small number of fixed settings. That detail matters when the difference between two surfaces does not match a preset interval.

On a staircase, the front and rear sections may stand on different steps. On an uneven industrial floor, one corner may need a smaller correction than the others. The independently adjustable stiles allow these differences to be addressed at the ladder itself. This makes the product a practical step ladder for stairs, split-level interiors and firm surfaces with local changes in height.

Four turn-locks, one for each stile

Every stile has its own turn-lock handle. Set the required extension, turn the handle and that stile is secured in place. Because the locks work independently, one contact point can be corrected without changing the other three settings.

Aluminium construction for professional use

The rungs and stiles are made from extruded aluminium sections. The 60 × 24 mm stiles are joined to the rungs with high-strength, non-twist connections. The result is a rigid frame with the straightforward handling expected from an aluminium step ladder.

The serrated rungs are 30 mm deep and spaced at a 265 mm pitch. Their profiled surface supports secure foot placement during ascent and descent. A replaceable two-component end cap at the bottom of each stile helps the ladder sit firmly on the supporting surface. When an end cap is worn, that contact part can be renewed without replacing the complete ladder.

Varioflex B complies with EN 131 Professional and has a maximum load capacity of 150 kg. The stated load includes the user together with tools, clothing and any materials carried on the ladder. As the frame is aluminium, this model is not an insulated ladder for live electrical work.

Choosing between the models

The 2 × 6 model is the more compact choice. It has an approximate working height of 3.00 m, weighs 12.5 kg and measures 1,850 × 600 × 140 mm for transport. It suits jobs where easier handling and a shorter stored length are important.

The 2 × 8 model increases the approximate working height to 3.55 m. Its greater support-section adjustment range suits larger differences between the two sides of the setup. The model weighs 15.5 kg and has transport dimensions of 2,410 × 650 × 140 mm.
