Multitec M multi-purpose ladder for changing tasks

Different jobs do not always need different access equipment. The ZARGES Multitec M is a four-section aluminium multi-purpose ladder that folds for transport and can be configured for several common access tasks. Use the appropriate model as a straight lean-to ladder, a double-sided stepladder or a low work platform. It is a practical choice for maintenance teams, installers, warehouse personnel and site crews who move between work areas and need one ladder to cover several types of work.

One folding ladder with three working configurations

In the lean-to configuration, the hinged sections form a straight ladder for supported access work. Depending on the version, the stated lean-to ladder length is between 3.62 and 4.74 m. This setup is useful when the task and surroundings provide a suitable supporting surface and the ladder can be positioned and secured in accordance with the operating instructions.

For self-supporting use, the Multitec M forms a double-sided stepladder. Access from either side gives the user more freedom to position the ladder around a fitting, machine or storage area. The stated length as a stepladder ranges from 1.85 to 2.41 m. Always use the ladder in a fully locked configuration and keep it on a firm, level surface.

Three models can also be set up as a low work platform using the supplied folding wooden board. The platform height is 0.99 m on each of these versions. The 4 × 4 version is supplied without the board and is not intended for use as a work platform.

Four-section aluminium construction

The Multitec M is made from aluminium and has an external ladder-body width of 350 mm. Its rungs are flanged into the stiles, giving each rung a direct mechanical connection to the ladder body. The 30 mm-deep rungs have a serrated surface and are spaced at 265 mm intervals.

Replaceable two-component end caps support a slip-resistant footing. The 4 × 3, 2 × 3 + 2 × 4 and 2 × 3 + 2 × 5 versions have two horizontal stabiliser bars, while the 4 × 4 version has one. These base components improve the contact area, but the ladder must still be used on a clean, solid and level surface that is suitable for the task.

The maximum load is 150 kg. The Multitec M is certified to EN 131-4 by TÜV-SÜD. Users should still follow the product labels, operating instructions and workplace risk assessment for every configuration.
