The Ekonomy balance stool gives you a practical way to alternate between sitting and a higher, supported working position. Instead of holding the body in one fixed position, its rounded base responds to small shifts in weight. This controlled movement encourages active sitting without adding complicated adjustments. The stool works well beside a height-adjustable desk, where it supports an easy change between sitting, supported perching and standing at the desk.

A convex base that allows controlled movement

The distinctive convex base is central to how this active sitting stool works. It can tilt forwards, backwards and to either side, so the seat follows natural changes in posture. Movement remains controlled as you shift your weight, and the seat continues to provide support. The self-righting base returns the stool towards its upright position after use and helps it remain standing when you step away.

With a diameter of 330 mm at floor level, the base has a compact footprint and leaves the area around your feet relatively open. This is useful at smaller workstations and at sit-stand desks where you need room to adjust your stance.

Stepless 635–900 mm height adjustment

A gas spring provides stepless height adjustment from 635 to 900 mm. At the lower end, the stool supports seated or low-perching work when paired with a suitable worktop height. At higher settings, it can be used as a perching stool, allowing you to lean against the seat while keeping more weight through your feet. This makes it easier to change posture without moving a second seat into place.

The wide adjustment range also helps accommodate different users and worktop heights. Because the setting is continuous rather than restricted to preset positions, the seat can be placed at the height that suits the task and the user’s preferred posture. The gas-spring mechanism makes it quick to raise or lower the seat when the workstation setup changes.

Movement matters, but so does comfort. Ekonomy has a round, padded seat with a diameter of 330 mm. The cushioning provides support during seated or semi-standing tasks without adding unnecessary bulk. Its compact shape works well at both personal and shared workstations.

The upholstery is Bloom fabric made from 100% polyester. It has an abrasion resistance of 50,000 cycles in the Martindale test. The upholstery is also fire-classified in accordance with EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2. Together, these properties make the seat suitable for professional work areas where furniture materials need to withstand regular use.
