These studs help the mat anchor firmly into position, which improves stability when the chair moves across the surface. The total thickness of Ankkuri II with studs is 6.7 mm. On carpet, the hard upper surface also makes the office chair easier to move, because the castors roll on the mat rather than pushing through the carpet pile.
