When storage space is tight but the job still calls for reliable access at different heights, the Compactstep L aluminium telescopic ladder keeps the equipment list simple. Its sections retract to less than one metre, making the ladder practical to carry between work areas and store in a service vehicle, workshop or maintenance room.
The height can be adjusted rung by rung, so one ladder can be set for several access tasks. The 40 mm deep serrated aluminium rungs provide a broad, textured contact surface for climbing. Wear-resistant anodised stiles also help keep hands cleaner than untreated aluminium during regular handling.

Access requirements can change several times during the same working day. A fixed-length ladder that suits one task may be awkward to transport or simply too long for the next location. Compactstep L solves that practical problem with a height-adjustable telescopic design. It extends for access work and retracts to less than one metre for transport and storage. This compact telescopic ladder is intended for jobs where equipment has to move with the user.
The telescopic sections allow the ladder length to be adjusted rung by rung. This makes Compactstep L useful when the required access height varies between work areas. Extend only the sections needed for the job and make sure every section in use is fully engaged before climbing.
Once retracted, the Compactstep L telescopic ladder is under one metre long. It therefore takes up far less length than a conventional single ladder during transport. The compact format is easier to place in a service vehicle or car boot and requires less dedicated storage space at the workshop.
Each rung has a depth of 40 mm. The serrated surface provides a defined contact area for footwear during ascent and descent, while the 300 mm vertical rung spacing gives the ladder a regular climbing rhythm. Good housekeeping remains important. Keep the rungs free from oil, mud and loose material, and use suitable work footwear. A textured aluminium surface supports secure climbing, but it does not replace correct setup or careful use.
The ladder is made from aluminium, and the stiles have an anodised finish. This treatment gives the regularly handled surfaces a wear-resistant outer layer and helps keep hands cleaner than untreated aluminium. It is a useful detail on equipment that is repeatedly extended, carried and returned to storage. The slim telescopic construction also avoids the long projecting sections of a fixed ladder when the product is retracted. For mobile work, that can make handling through a building and loading into a vehicle more manageable.
Compactstep L has a maximum load capacity of 150 kg. This limit covers the total load placed on the ladder, including the user and anything carried. Before selecting a model, consider the user’s weight together with tools, workwear and materials needed at height. Do not exceed the stated maximum load. The ladder complies with EN 131-6.
