Steel drum dolly for moving drums and round containers

A loaded drum may need to travel only a short distance, yet carrying or repeatedly lifting it is neither practical nor efficient. This steel drum dolly creates a mobile base close to floor level. Once a compatible container has been placed correctly inside the circular frame, four swivel castors with nylon wheels let it be repositioned without transferring the full weight by hand.

A raised rim helps locate the container

The circular frame follows the footprint of a round load without adding the corners of a rectangular platform. A low rim runs around the outer edge and helps limit sideways movement when a correctly sized container is centred on the drum dolly. The rim is a locating edge, not a clamp, strap or tie-down. The container must stand flat within the frame, its base should not rest on top of the rim. This simple layout suits upright containers that need a dedicated mobile base.

Four swivel castors with nylon wheels

All four castors swivel, allowing the dolly to change direction without the turning circle required by a fixed-wheel trolley. This makes it easier to line up a drum beside a workstation or reposition a container where floor space is limited. The castor arrangement is the same in principle on both variants, only the wheel diameter changes. Nylon wheels are hard and are generally best suited to clean, level floors. They do not absorb joints, debris or surface defects in the same way as a softer tread.

One drum dolly, two practical applications

The Ø 595 mm model is the straightforward choice for a compatible 200 L drum. It can support routine moves between nearby storage and work areas once the drum has been loaded correctly. Its larger Ø 80 mm castors and low 135 mm overall height keep the format compact.

The Ø 410 mm round container dolly is intended for smaller containers, cans and paint tins. It has the same 250 kg rating in a smaller footprint, with Ø 70 mm swivel castors and a total height of 115 mm. For cylindrical loads, confirm that the base is flat and sits securely inside the rim.

Electro-galvanised steel for routine industrial use

The steel frame has an electro-galvanised finish. The zinc layer provides surface protection for the steel and gives the dolly a clean, practical finish for industrial surroundings. It should not, however, be treated as proof of resistance to every chemical or cleaning agent.
