HDPE plastic pallet with an easy-clean surface

The pallet is made from HD-PE, often written in English as HDPE. This material is well suited to a hygienic plastic pallet because the surface is non-porous, strong and easy to rinse. The even deck surface helps remove dirt, moisture and residues faster than rougher surfaces. The plastic pallet can be cleaned with pressure washing, foam washing or a hot-water rinse up to +60 °C. This makes it a practical choice for sites that wash pallets as part of their normal hygiene routine. The pallet also avoids two common problems connected with wooden pallets: splinters and rust from nails or metal parts. For food storage and transport, that simple difference can make daily handling cleaner and more predictable.

Because the pallet is made from plastic, it is also free from the ISPM 15 treatment requirement that applies to many wooden pallets used in export packaging. This can help export-oriented operations avoid the extra certification step connected with wooden load carriers. The exact export process should always be checked according to the destination and the goods being shipped, but a plastic pallet is often a practical choice when wooden pallet treatment rules would otherwise slow the process down.

These three figures are important because pallets are used in different ways during the same workflow. A pallet may be loaded on the floor, lifted for transport, placed in a dispatch lane and later stored in a rack. The safe load depends on how the pallet is supported, how evenly the weight is spread and what equipment is used. For racking use, always follow the pallet racking design, beam support and site safety instructions, and do not exceed the stated 300 kg racking capacity.

Available with or without retaining lips

The pallet is available with 9 mm centre and outer retaining lips, and it is also available without these lips. Retaining lips can help keep boxes, crates or other load units in position when they match the pallet layout. They are useful when the load needs a low edge or locating point during storage and internal movement.

The version without retaining lips is useful when a completely open edge is preferred, for example with load units that must slide on and off the pallet more easily. Choosing between the two versions depends on the goods, packaging, stacking pattern and handling method used at the site. The main advantage is that the same FIN-size plastic pallet can be matched more closely to the way the load is actually handled.
