Hygienic food grade plastic pallet for food storage and transport

When food products move from production to warehouse and from warehouse to transport, the pallet must do more than carry weight. It must support a clean working process, withstand repeated handling and stay reliable in changing temperatures. This hygienic plastic pallet is designed for food storage and transport in demanding logistics. The Euro size 1200 × 800 × 160 mm format fits common European pallet handling, while the HDPE construction gives a smooth, non-porous surface that is easy to clean.

The pallet is a practical choice for meat, dairy products, fresh vegetables, packed food products and other goods where hygiene is important. It is also suitable for pharmaceutical logistics and other clean handling environments when the given load ratings and handling instructions match the application. The material does not absorb moisture like timber, and it does not splinter, rust or release loose wooden parts.

HDPE pallet material for clean, repeated use

The hygienic pallet is made from HDPE, also written as HD-PE. This plastic material is valued in clean logistics because it is strong, smooth and non-porous. The surface helps prevent bacteria and mould from attaching, and cleaning is faster than with absorbent materials. In a food warehouse or production area, this can save time during rinsing, washing and inspection routines.

The pallet tolerates cold and heat. It keeps its shape in cold storage and is suitable for +60 °C wash processes. The material is also described as meeting EU and FDA food-contact material guidelines. Compared with wooden pallets, a food grade plastic pallet can be easier to keep clean. There are no nails, splinters or rough wooden fibres. The pallet does not rust, and it is not affected by moisture in the same way as wood.

Load ratings for storage, transport and racking

This plastic pallet is designed for heavy-duty food logistics. The dynamic load rating is 1500 kg. Dynamic load means the load during movement, for example when the pallet is handled with a forklift or pallet truck. The static load rating is 3500 kg when the pallet is standing still on a floor. The racking load is 300 kg when the pallet is used in suitable pallet racking.

Welded or unwelded runners

The pallet is available with welded or unwelded runners. The welded runner version adds rigidity and gives the pallet a total weight of 18 kg. This can be the better choice when the pallet is used heavily, moved often or needs extra firmness in demanding handling. The unwelded runner version weighs 16.8 kg and is a lighter alternative for applications where the lower weight is preferred.

Locking options for safer stacking

The pallet can be selected with 9 mm central and outer locking rims or as an unlocked version. The locking rims help the pallet align when pallets are stacked. This supports a straighter stack and makes handling more predictable during storage and transport. The unlocked version is useful when the load, handling equipment or existing pallet flow does not need locking rims. The choice should match the goods being handled and the way pallets are stacked, stored and returned.
