Assembly work may need a crane at one station, while the next maintenance job is across the workshop. A Kito Erikkilä mobile gantry crane brings the lifting point to either work area. It is intended for industrial spaces, workshops and warehouses where parts need to be lifted and positioned during assembly, maintenance or production. When the crane needs to be relocated, move it without a load and lock its castors before the next lift.

Lightweight girder and stable working position

The Kito Erikkilä portal crane uses an aluminium girder. The beam is relatively light to handle during assembly and relocation, yet suited to its specified lifting capacity. Swivel castors make movement between work areas possible, and wheel locks secure the crane in position for lifting.

Choose the lifting capacity and girder arrangement

Erikkilä lists four standard rated capacities for its portal crane: 125, 250, 500 and 1,000 kg. Start with the heaviest item that the crane will need to handle, then check the capacity of the complete selected setup. The right choice also depends on the space available around the task and where the lifted item needs to be positioned. Single-girder and double-girder versions are available. Their dimensions and layouts differ, so the girder choice is part of selecting the crane for the space.

Flat cable or internal conductor rail

The mobile gantry crane is offered with two standard power supply arrangements. With the flat cable option, plastic cable trolleys carry the cable inside the crane profile as the hoist trolley travels. This keeps the cable supported and organised along the beam. The cable trolleys need room when they gather at one end of the track, so take the required trolley travel into account.

The alternative is an internal conductor rail built into the crane profile. It supplies power without a loose cable along the trolley path and allows more of the available travel to be used. This can be helpful where the lift has to reach close to either end of the working area. Choose the supply arrangement according to the trolley movement required at the workstation.
