Mini Shelf Trolley – a compact mobile helper for the school day

The Mini Shelf Trolley is the kind of everyday workhorse that fades into the background of a school day, right up until you notice how much it’s actually doing. Books, craft kits, tablet boxes, reading folders, lunch trays, PE bibs: anything that needs to move from one room to the next tends to end up on it. And because the frame weighs only 6 kg, even a small child can wheel it alongside the teacher.

Built for the daily rhythm of schools and kindergartens

Classrooms, after-school clubs and kindergartens all share the same problem. Lots of small items, lots of short journeys, limited storage space, and adults who simply don’t have time to carry armfuls of material between rooms. The Mini Shelf Trolley solves that problem without adding clutter. Its footprint is small enough to park beside the teacher’s desk or tuck into a corner of the cloakroom, and it rolls quietly between rows of desks on four swivel castors. Between each shelf level there’s 160 mm of clear height, which is enough for paperback books, plastic trays, A4 folders and most standard storage boxes used in schools.

Light frame, useful load capacity

At 6 kg the trolley is light enough to lift one-handed, yet it is rated to carry loads of up to 80 kg when the weight is spread evenly across the shelves. That’s a practical working balance. Staff aren’t straining their backs to move it, and there’s no worry about overloading it with a full set of textbooks or a week’s worth of craft supplies for the whole class. The frame is made of powder-coated steel. Powder coating is the finish used on most professional school and workshop furniture for a reason. It resists scratches, survives knocks against door frames and skirting boards, and keeps its colour through repeated wipe-downs. Spilled paint, dried glue and everyday fingerprints come off without fading the surface.

Low tube rails keep the shelves tidy

Every shelf is surrounded by a low tube railing. The height is deliberately kept short so the contents stay visible from the side. At the same time, the rails do their job as a safety feature. Books don’t slide off when the trolley is pushed around corners. Plastic baskets stay put when it rolls over a threshold strip between classrooms. Small items like markers, counters and maths manipulatives don’t end up rolling across the floor in the middle of a lesson.

Four swivel castors for tight classroom spaces

All four wheels swivel, and that makes a noticeable difference to how the trolley handles. Fixed castors force a trolley into a wide turning arc. Swivel castors let it rotate on its own axis and move sideways as easily as forward, which is exactly what’s needed when a classroom is packed with desks, chairs and schoolbags. Two of the four castors have foot-operated brakes. Pressing the brake lever with a toe locks the wheel, and a second tap releases it. No bending down, no hunting around for a lever.
