Palcon spill pallet converter for palletised drum storage

A leaking drum can interrupt a shift, damage nearby goods and leave a difficult clean-up. The Palcon spill pallet converter helps contain that problem without making normal forklift work complicated. It forms a secondary containment area around a loaded pallet, so leaks and spills can be collected before they spread across the warehouse or production floor.

Palcon is made from chemical-resistant PE plastic for industrial sites where palletised drums contain oils or compatible chemicals. Unlike a rigid drum spill pallet with a fixed high front wall, it has a flexible edge that moves out of the way during loading. The edge bends as the forklift lowers the pallet into position, then returns after the forks are withdrawn. Normal forklift loading therefore does not require a separate ramp.

What does a spill pallet converter do?

Palcon is not a stand-alone pallet with its own load deck. It is a spill pallet converter designed to work with a compatible wooden or plastic pallet that supports the drums. The loaded pallet is lowered into the containment area. When the process calls for a palletised base, the Palcon unit can first be positioned over another compatible pallet, leaving practical fork access underneath the assembly.

During loading, the front wall compresses as the pallet and forks pass over it. Once the forks are pulled back, the wall rises to its normal position and completes the bund around the load. Forklift drivers can use a familiar approach, with fewer transfer steps and less manual repositioning around heavy drums. The design is particularly useful when drums move between storage, production and maintenance areas but still need secondary containment at the point of use.

Chemical-resistant polyethylene for industrial use

The Palcon pallet bund converter is rotationally moulded from PE plastic. Polyethylene does not rust and resists a broad range of oils, acids, alkalis and other industrial chemicals. No plastic is suitable for every substance or every concentration. The one-piece basin has smooth internal surfaces, making residue easier to see and the sump easier to wash. This matters when the unit needs to be inspected, cleaned and returned to service without a long maintenance stop. The PE material can also be recycled where local facilities accept it.

Why the flexible front edge matters

A rigid, high-sided polyethylene spill pallet may need a ramp, a separate deck or another transfer step. Palcon takes a more direct approach. The forklift lowers the loaded pallet into the bund, the front edge yields during placement and the edge returns when the forks leave the containment area.
