When the user steps onto the ladder, the spring wheels compress so the frame settles into its working position. The handrails assist ascent and descent, while the aluminium chequer-plate platform forms the standing level for brief picking tasks.

The frame remains open and ready for use, with no folding mechanism to operate before climbing. Five treads, including the top platform, are combined with handrails on the climbing side and a knee support above the platform. The aluminium construction keeps the mobile warehouse steps relatively light while providing a fixed structure for repeated use. With no folding joints to open, the unit can be moved from one shelf section to the next and used again without a separate unfolding step. Handrails on the climbing side give the user support during ascent and descent. At the top, the knee support rises 600 mm above the platform area. The top platform is made from strong aluminium chequer plate. Its raised pattern clearly distinguishes the standing area and provides a durable metal surface for warehouse and shop use. As the platform is solid rather than perforated, it should be kept clear of loose material and moisture before use.
The ladder has fixed 75 mm rear wheels and fixed spring-loaded wheels on the climbing side. This arrangement makes the unit easier to reposition along shelving. When the user steps onto the ladder, the spring wheels compress and the frame settles into its working position.
