PTH mobile warehouse steps for efficient stock picking

When products are stored just beyond comfortable reach, suitable access equipment keeps picking work moving. The PTH mobile warehouse steps are designed primarily as a stock picking ladder for warehouses, shops and retail stockrooms. This Finnish-made aluminium model has four treads and a 940 mm-high platform in a compact, fixed-frame design. It gives the user a proper standing surface for picking, replenishment and parts handling without taking a large access platform into the aisle.

The main purpose of the PTH ladder is straightforward: it provides access to small goods stored above easy reach. In a warehouse, that may mean cartons, components or spare parts on shelving. In a shop or retail stockroom, it can support shelf replenishment and retrieval of reserve stock. The 940 mm platform height is also useful in online order-picking areas where items are stored across several shelf levels.

Spring-loaded castors make repositioning simpler

Mobile warehouse steps need to move efficiently when empty and remain stable when climbed. The PTH model uses fixed rear wheels together with fixed spring-loaded castors on the access side. When the ladder is unloaded, the wheels help the user reposition it from one picking point to another. There is no need to carry the full 11 kg weight for every short move.

As weight is applied during climbing, the spring-loaded castors retract into the frame and the TPE anti-slip feet meet the floor. The change happens through the spring action of the castors, so the user does not have to operate a separate wheel brake before every pick. Once the ladder is unloaded, it is ready to move again. The design suits repeated repositioning along shelving rows, provided the floor is firm, level and suitable for the ladder.

Handrails, knee support and 80 mm-deep treads

Good support matters when the user is stepping up and looking for the next item. The PTH mobile picking steps have fixed handrails on both sides of the access section, giving the user a clear handhold while ascending or descending. At platform level, the 600 mm-high knee support provides another point of support at the front of the standing position.

The climbing treads are 80 mm deep, and their ribbed aluminium surface helps footwear maintain contact with each tread. The working platform is made from strong aluminium chequer plate. Aluminium is also practical for equipment that is moved regularly because it keeps the overall product weight manageable.
