A leaking IBC, fuel tank or vehicle can turn into a costly clean-up within minutes. The Rigid-Lock QuickBerm® portable spill containment berm gives maintenance, warehouse and site teams a fast way to create a defined secondary containment area around liquids, containers and equipment. It folds for transport and storage, unfolds without tools and is designed to be ready for use in less than five minutes. Integrated stainless steel supports lock the 305 mm sidewalls upright. The structure does not need a separate frame to be built around the working area.

Fast, tool-free setup

The foldable design keeps setup straightforward. Unfold the spill containment berm on a suitable surface, position it where containment is needed and raise the wall supports until they lock. Because the supports are built into the walls, there are no separate wall sections to assemble before the containment area can be used.

Fold-down walls for forklift and vehicle access

Vehicle access is one of the main advantages of the Rigid-Lock design. Before a forklift, pallet truck, tractor, service vehicle or tanker enters, the required wall section is folded inward and laid flat. The vehicle can then cross the lowered section without dismantling the whole berm or installing a separate access ramp. Once the vehicle is in place, the wall is raised and locked again.

When lowered, the wall support is rated to withstand up to 5,000 kg at each tyre. The wall should be lowered before it is crossed. This makes the QuickBerm suitable as a drive-in spill containment berm for occasional access when vehicles, mobile machinery or palletised loads must be positioned inside the protected area.

Rigid wall support and reinforced corners

The patented Rigid-Lock wall-support system keeps the sidewalls at the required height during use. Stainless steel supports are integrated into the structure and lock the wall in the upright position. When access is needed, the support and wall fold inward as one unit.

Full containment places high loads on the walls and especially on the corners. The reinforced CriticalCorner™ construction is designed to prevent the corners from sagging, opening or losing their shape as the berm fills. Welded seams support fluid-tight containment, while the 25 mm fray-resistant finished hem along the top edge protects an area that is exposed to frequent handling and wear.

Built-in anchoring points can be used when the berm needs additional stability in exposed locations. The anchoring method should always suit the surface and site conditions, and the containment area should be checked after positioning.

Chemical-resistant, UV-resistant material

The Rigid-Lock QuickBerm® is made from modified PVC-coated fabric. The material resists petrol, oils, grease and most acids, making the berm suitable for many industrial oil spill containment, fuel spill containment and chemical spill containment tasks. It can be used indoors or outdoors and withstands long-term exposure to UV radiation.

Flexible secondary containment for many applications

The range supports both routine work and temporary spill response. Typical uses include secondary containment beneath IBCs, drums, small fuel tanks, oil containers and other vessels that may leak. It can also create a controlled area around machinery, other industrial equipment or vehicles during maintenance and fluid transfer.

The fold-down access wall is particularly useful when the load cannot be lifted over the side. The berm can also be used as a controlled collection area during equipment wash-down or decontamination work. In these applications, confirm that the fabric is compatible with the substances and cleaning agents involved, and make sure the selected capacity covers the expected liquid volume.
