When parts, fittings or service points must be reached several times during a shift, a ladder needs to be easy to position and comfortable to climb. The XLstep S aluminium platform step ladder combines a light aluminium structure with deep treads, a standing platform and a useful tool tray. It is intended for professional access tasks in warehouses, industrial premises and construction environments. The range includes models with 5, 6, 7 or 8 steps, including the platform.

Easy to move between work areas

The XLstep S is made for workplaces where access equipment does not stay in one position all day. Depending on the model, the ladder weighs from 9.65 to 15.6 kg. It can therefore be moved between shelving, machinery and installation points without bringing in larger access equipment for each short task. An aluminium platform step ladder is also practical where floor space changes during the working day. The folding format makes handling and storage straightforward.

Deep 80 mm treads for a steady climb

Each tread is 80 mm deep. This gives the foot more contact area than a narrow rung and makes repeated climbing more comfortable. The serrated surface helps the sole maintain contact during ascent and descent. These details are useful in working areas where dust or normal industrial dirt may be present, although the treads and footwear should always be kept clean. The same deep-tread format is used throughout the model range.

Integrated tray for tools and small parts

A spacious tray at the top of the ladder provides a place for frequently used tools, fixings and small components. Keeping essential items close to the work point can reduce unnecessary trips up and down. It also leaves the standing platform free for the user’s feet.

Anodised stiles for clean handling

The aluminium stiles have an anodised finish. This wear-resistant surface is clean to handle and helps prevent the dark marks commonly associated with untreated aluminium. It is a practical detail when the ladder is moved frequently or used in finished indoor areas. The treads, stiles and platform form a durable aluminium structure without making the ladder unnecessarily difficult to handle.

High-friction feet and reinforced joints

The feet are made from a high-friction, two-component rubber compound. They provide a broad contact point between the ladder and the floor. Triple-riveted connections join the treads to the stiles. Anti-splay straps limit how far the two sides can spread when the ladder is open. Standard stabiliser bars vary by model: the 5-step version has one 1.2 m bar, while the 6-step version has two 1.0 m bars. The 7-step and 8-step versions each have two 1.2 m bars.
