A conventional stepladder can feel restrictive when a job requires more than a quick reach. The ZAP Neo S provides a 400 x 400 mm work platform and a three-sided guardrail in a lightweight aluminium frame. The railing folds towards the frame for transport and storage, so the ladder is easier to handle between jobs and takes up less room when it is not in use.

A generous work platform for everyday professional tasks

At 400 x 400 mm, the platform gives the user a clear standing area at the top of the ladder. Its ribbed aluminium surface adds grip underfoot and is suited to regular industrial use. The square format also provides more usable standing room than a narrow top tread.

Each tread is 80 mm deep. The serrated surface supports secure footing during ascent and descent, while the tread depth gives the foot more contact area than a narrow rung. The joints between the treads and stiles are triple riveted, an important construction detail when ladders are being compared for repeated professional use. The maximum permitted load is 150 kg. This limit includes the user and anything carried on the ladder.

Folding handrails save space during transport

The 1,000 mm high guardrail surrounds three sides of the work platform. It creates a clear boundary around the standing area while leaving the access side open. This layout is useful when a task is carried out from the platform at shelving, machinery or a fixed service point.

For transport, the handrails fold in towards the frame. This reduces the space required compared with a platform ladder fitted with permanently projecting rails. It is a useful feature in service vehicles, equipment stores and maintenance rooms where access equipment has to share limited space with other tools.

Lightweight aluminium frame with anodised stiles

Aluminium keeps the ZAP Neo S relatively light, which matters when the same ladder is carried, repositioned and stored during the working day. The anodised stiles have a smooth, clean finish suited to equipment handled regularly in warehouses, workshops and vehicles.

At floor level, the ladder is fitted with high-friction foot caps made from a two-component rubber compound. They help the ladder maintain contact with a firm, level surface. As with any platform steps, the floor should be checked before use and kept clear of material or contamination that could reduce grip.
