This pallet racking extension bay (add-on bay) expands an existing racking run and adds space for six EUR pallets, keeping stock accessible for forklifts and pallet trucks.
The kit includes 1 upright frame and 4 pallet rack beams (beam safety locks included). The upright frame components are supplied for on-site assembly: uprights, bracing, base plates, washers and fixings.
Need a faster start? Upright frames can also be supplied pre-assembled at an extra cost.

This pallet racking extension bay is a straightforward way to grow your storage capacity: you attach it to an existing run and immediately create room for six EUR (Euro) pallets at the same bay width and depth you already use.
Because the extension bay is designed as part of an adjustable racking system, it also supports changes later on, such as moving beam levels when your product mix or pallet heights change.
In most adjustable pallet racking layouts, you begin with a starter bay (base unit) and then extend the row with one or more extension bays (sometimes called an add-on bay, an add-on unit or an additional section). Adding bays this way keeps the structure consistent, makes the layout easier to plan and helps you use the available floor area efficiently.
This package is specified for 6 EUR pallet positions. In a typical setup, two pallets sit side by side per level at a bay width of 1850 mm, and the included beams allow you to create two beam levels above the floor. Combined with floor storage, that gives you the six pallet locations in one bay.
Warehouse conditions change: pallet heights vary, product ranges come and go and seasonal peaks can put pressure on available space. That is why adjustable pallet racking remains a common choice. This system allows you to reposition levels with a 50 mm adjustment pitch, so you can fine-tune vertical space and avoid wasting height between pallet loads.
The pallet racking system is designed to meet EN 15512, supporting a structured approach to safe storage in industrial environments. The racking concept is built around verified engineering and typical safety requirements for pallet storage.
Pallet racking is often used for more than standard EUR pallets. Depending on your operation, you may store FIN pallets, one-way pallets, customer-owned pallets, pallet boxes or wire cages. When load types vary, accessories can help keep storage safe and organised.
Common options include intermediate beams, shelf levels and mesh decking for loads that are not suited to direct beam support. For safety and protection, many warehouses also add impact protection and guarding elements such as end-of-aisle protectors, tunnel guards and safety mesh. Clear labelling tools, for example, location signs and label holders, support accurate picking and faster inventory checks.
If you are considering accessories, plan them at the same time as the extension bay. It is usually easier to build a consistent racking row and then add the right supports and protection where your traffic and load patterns require them.
You receive the components needed to build one extension bay that integrates with the P90 pallet racking system (Dexion). The package content is defined to support a stable structure and safe operation:
The upright frame is delivered as parts for on-site assembly. This keeps transport practical and makes it easier to handle components in tight locations. If you prefer to minimise installation time on your site, the upright frame can also be supplied pre-assembled at an additional cost.
